cramping and bleeding

Hi all I am six weeks and two days today. On sunday I started spotting with no cramps. On Monday it continued but by Monday night it was like a period. I had the period cramps too. By yesterday (Tuesday) the bloof reduced but still hadthe cramps all day. Today im spotting but the cramps are constant meaning that they come and go every few minutes. They are a bit sharp but not severe. Note that no tissue was passed during the bleeding. Also I have yet to see a heartbeat.  Ive been to the gnaecologist today and I have not miscarried.  The fetus is actually growing since mylast visit but just no heartbeat. She says it may have been a threatened miscarriage or an infection causing the bleeding and cramps. But she is also concerned as to y there is no heartbeat still. Im so worried.  Can anyone share their thoughts and experiences please.

I agree with julz  make the check your hcg levels and then check again after 48-72 hours. I would NOT let them do a d&c unless your hcg levels are dropping. Lots and lots of people don't see a heartbeat until 7-9 weeks.

Hi thanks for your comment.  I did read that some people see the heartbeat at eight to nine weeks. My doc is scaring me because she is saying if by Monday there is no heartbeat then we know the pregnancy is not going well and we have to do a d and c. I prefer to wait a while longer.

When are they going to do another u/s? Some people bleed for no apparent reason. You might be able to see a heartbeat in a few days, some people can't see the heartbeat till 6-9 weeks. Hope everything is ok, just rest and follow doctors orders

Six weeks is still early to see a heartbeat. If your doctor says baby is growing that is a great sign! It does sound like you had a threatened miscarraige but since baby is still in there it sounds like all is still well. Just keep an eye on things to make sure you don't bleed bright red or have intense cramping. Best wishes for a healthy pregnancy!

Also the cramping Is in above the pelvic area so its jus under my navel area. Sometimes I get a little relief if I use the toilet.  This is my first pregnancy. I have polystic ovaries as well so I don't know if that can contribute to this pain.
