Bloatedness & no appetite...

Hi mummies,

This is my first pregnancy & I am in my first trimester. I find that I feel bloated the whole day everyday & I have no appetite... Not even when it comes to my fave food... I can only take a few mouthfuls (I can literally count the number of bites I take with my hands) before I start to feel full... I like to know how do you guys cope???

Not sure about the gas but with the heavy stomache I stuck with fruits and cereal for at least a month. I am just now starting to handle real foods... my favorite was watermelon and grapes but I just like things that were light on my stomache..you know..high liquid content type foods..

I do not have constipation actually. I just feel that my stomach does not move after I have finished eating something, so it feels that the whole food is sitting undigested in my stomach. Ughs. To add to that, I feel that the whole central portion of my body is filled with gas, so much gas that no matter how much I burp, I can't seem to get rid of it.This is even though I do not take any carbonated drinks. Does anyone here know how to deal with this? Please share. Thanks so much!

I went through the same thing these last couple weeks. (Also first trimester and first pregnancy) Fortunately, I've been told that the baby isn't dependent too much right now on what you eat and you don't need to be gaining weight yet. My suggestion would be drink lots of water. That helps with constipation (may be the cause of bloating) and overall digestive health. Also if you're not hungry, try eating healthy foods with lots of fiber (whatever you can manage to eat).
