I only had one ultrasound and thats when i was 5 months pregnant when i found out and. They said he was big to be 5 months and that was it.
Most doctors office only do ultrasounds at certain points in ur pregnancy. We all want ultrasounds everytime we go to the doctor. But, ur insurance will not cover it. Unless it's medically necessary.
The only time I've been told a weight of any kinda was when I had my ultrasounds. Other than that the doctor just feels around on my abdomen for baby, measures me, checks baby's heart rate and sends me on my way. I only hear "okay baby looks good. See you in four weeks."
To be honest it doesn't matter anyway i remember with my first they was saying she a big baby and weighs around 10 to 11 lbs (now absolutely pooing myself to give birth) but when she came out she was a nice 7lbs baby which was perfect. ..im a hairdresser so get told plenty of storys n not one person has told me the scan weight was that actual weight or anything near it so i wouldnt work urself up over it. Whatever will b will b unfortunately x
I have yet to receive a weight for my baby girl and I am going on 39 weeks. Guess it depends on the doctor's office.
They don't really have a way of knowing that week to week, outside of getting an ultrasound. Any baby website can give you an estimate of what it's close to at whatever stage you're at. But it's just an estimate.
With my experience my obgyn only measured from my pelvic bone up to see if the week and measurment matched up. When I did a ultrasound through my high risk doctor is when they were able to tell me the weight with all the measurements they took. I'm assuming maybe they can't really tell you until you do a ultrasound? I may be wrong this is my first pregnancy and how I experienced it. But if that was the case they need to explain that to you. This app also goes week by week and gives you a estimated weight the baby should be at that time. :)
Always ask during an ultrasound
