I breastfeed for 6 months after my baby was born, I only bleed for about 3 weeks after giving birth.. during that time my husband and I didn't not use any birth control and I never got pregnant. after I stopped breastfeeding my period came regularly and got pregnant when my baby was 8 months. breastfeeding usually delays your period/ovulation making it harder to get pregnant
My period stayed away until I stopped regularly night feeding (around nine months with both my kids. I then became pregnant after one period with my first, and two periods after my second. But I don't have pcos
Mine took a few months to come back while breastfeeding.
If you're breastfeeding it might be a while yet before your period comes back. Breastfeeding tends to hinder that process.
So I have herd (not from experience) that you are more likely to get pregnant again while breastfeeding and shortly after the birth of a child because your body is still in total baby mode.. I do know from experience that while breastfeeding my son, I didn't get my first period for I want to say around 6 months postpartum. I also know that I was having sex and not using birth control for the next 2 years and it took that long to get pregnant again.. the hardest part it think it's not knowing when u are ovulating, and just because you are not getting a period, does not mean you are not ovulating.. so if your not ready to be pregnant again, just be careful!
