Maternity Leave

When are you ladies taking leave? I'm planning to work until my due date. Some people tell me I should work as long as I can, and others tell me that I shouldn't work that long. I have an office job but its high stress, usually 10 hr days. What are your thoughts?

Thank you all for the feedback! I am only planning to take 6 weeks unless I have a C section, then I may consider 8 weeks. I only have 4 weeks left of work, I just hope I can make it!!!

Forgot to mention i also work in an office setting as a law clerk.  I very often have to remind myself that it is only a job and i can only do what i can do in a daý and to not stress about things.  It is hard but you have to think of your baby first!

With my first i planned to take 1 week off before her due date just to relax and do some meal prep.  She came 3 weeks early so i worked until noon that day and went to my scheduled ob appointment and i was 4 cms dialated.  She was here at 11 pm!   I am not sure what to plan with this one. I will need a replacement at work lined up and i am not sure when to start my leave. I dont want to be waiting around for my lil man but i would like some time alone with my lil girl before her whole world gets turned upside down!  Fyi i live in Canada so i get a full year.  If i only got a few weeks or months i would be trying to get as close to my due date as i could!

I'm due April 29 so I'm going work till April 10, so I can get the room ready, hospital bag & relax. I work at a day care with infants to 4 year old. I get stressed out alot with work on two different rooms, so I would love to have time to myself before he comes.

I'm a nurse, work full time,  12 hour shifts.  My 40th week will be my last week of work unless she decides she wants out sooner.  :)

With my son I worked all the way through my pregnancy and I was fine.

This time, I'm due on a Wednesday and my final day will be this coming Friday...unless she comes before that.

I'm hoping she waits until at least Friday night.
