The way pregnancy is calculated is based on the first day of your last period. Its weird, but thats how they calculate it. So you dont really conceive until about week 2 or so of pregnancy, but your due date is 40 wks from your lmp.
Thanx everyone I feel a little better, I just have to wait it out to be 100% sure I assume and let them get bigger and see about an actual due date.
if you google conception date by due date theres some websites that have calculators to tell you conception date. Its kind of a reverse due date calculator
It's kind of weird how they determine it, but since most people don't know their specific conception date, they go off last period for accuracy. I kept track of everything and researched. So my last period was nov 27th but i didnt try to conceive until the dates around dec 10th. So they would base it off the nov 27th date even though i didnt actually have sex until dec 10th if that makes sense.
If they think you conceived on the 10th then I'd assume you should be closer to 6 weeks, but if all they have to go on is your period, and the babies size then they don't have a lot of choices for days you could have conceived so they are just taking what they can get..... You could also be confusing your period for implantation bleeding which normally only lasts a couple days and is lighter than a normal period which would put your conception date around the 20th of June which makes more sense if they assume you are around 8 weeks!! Either way it doesn't really matter right now, they will continue to measure the babies and find out a better due date as they grow!!! Congrats and good luck.... I'm sure everything will be fine
Not to be nosy, but how far apart was the timing of sexual activity between the two men? Then once you've determined that, how soon after the sexual encounters did you find out you were pregnant? That info could help a lot in determining the father because of the time span needed to detect the hcg hormone in your urine (about 2 weeks)
My period had been off a little the last couple of months but Im sure my last menstrual period was 6/26 lasted for a few days. Then weeks later I find out I'm pregnant. My ovulation date apparently was 7/10 but that still doesn't put me at 7 or 8 weeks even with the 2 weeks added, does it? Maybe I'm just to anxious to know because I made a mistake being with my ex on that particular day.
Yes the Dr. Did an ultrasound that said I'm 8 weeks well actually baby a is 8 weeks and 2 days baby b is 7 weeks and 2 days.
Depends on whether or not your dates are accurate. I have my lmp on 11-25 and that should have put my due date at 9/1 but the doctor determined my due date to be 9/6 based on an u/s. My menstrual cycle was out of wack for a few months and that's why it was not taken into account. When you conceive you are already 2 weeks pregnant (technically). So if you concieved 7/10, you are 2 weeks plus the time pregnant.
How did he determine when you concieved? Did they do an ultrasound? They typically go by the date of your last period. Hard to help without all the details.
Did the dr say u were 8 weeks?
