Contractions like crazy

40 weeks 2 days.....Yup. I'm still home, I've been having contractions for 4 hours straight. I went to l&d yesterday because I thought my water broke... nope just peed myself.

But today the contractions, I believe are real. They're 3-5mins apart. They change a little when I do other things like... if I'm walking then sit down, it might take 7-10 mins before they start up again, but they jump right back to being 3-5 mins apart.

I'd honestly like this to be the real deal, even though it hurts, I want to stay home a little longer to make sure they don't just taper off and die. If I go to the hospital again, it'd be the third time lol. They're probably getting tired of me by now. I don't want to be sent home again.

Help me decide! Should I stay or should I go?

I know this may sound crazy but my cousin went in the hospital and threw up on the floor so they kept her. She ended up having her baby the next day. They don't wanna risk you getting dehydrated so they hook you up to the iv and keep you. If you can make yourself do it then it just might work next time you go back.

I'm sorry,  I can't believe that a hospital would send you home during your delivery.  It's horrible. .. I'm going through a midwife. ... I'm hoping I don't go through what you are. . im so sorry

I'm wondering if there are ways to help you dilate? You've already have the contractions and your ft, wouldn't they be able to help? Just curious, but I really hope your delivery goes well.

Aww hun I know what you are going through with my first my contractions were literally 1min apart for most of the time and the hospital kept sending me home. At that time my home was in another city so I whent to my sisters. I think the hospital sent me home 3 or4 times. Though my doctor did say that as soon as my contraction started that I needed to stay at the hospital because of my blood sugars. Anyways when I whenr the final time I could not walk, all I could do was to wake up screaming from the contraction and then I would pass out from thw pain. Take a word of advice hun. Get back to the hospital,  walk in the lobby,  and do squats, wven get on your hands and knees to progress things,  but what ever you do dont leave until thay baby comes. As you do not want to end up how I did. When I finally got in their screaming and passing out a nurse yelled at me that I was scaeing the other new to be momas, well my mom whent and had some words with her. Say non the less I was in the delivery room with in 5min of that. Go back and stay there. Best of luck and have a happy, healthy baby!
Congrads and beat of luck!

I went... they sent me home. Even though my contractions are regular, they said they couldn't keep me because my cervix isn't changing. I'm still only 1 cm. I'm in so much pain, and they sent me home. The nurse said I could come back if the pain got so bad that I couldn't talk through it. I already can't talk through the pain. I have to stop walking when it hits. She told me to take a Tylenol. I guess I'm just going to have my baby at home because I have no idea what pain I need to be in... and I can't check my own cervix to see if I'm any further along. I'm so mad, so tired, and so upset. Tylenol is not helping at all.

You are 40 w go to the hospital,  you can walk and do what you need to in order to keep them going. Even at that if they slow down the hospital can put you on the drip to keep it going. Ive been on it twice. First with my second as my water wad leeking and my contractions stoped and the next time was to induce my third.  May need to do it with my 4th but only time will tell.

Maybe you should call Dr first. With my previous pregnancy I was the same, and nurses wanted to send me home as well. To me it seemed they didn't want to bother taking the time. But I refused to leave until my Dr came in to check up on me. And sure enough I went into labor a little later. You need to be sure that if by waiting your not putting baby or yourself at risk. Hope all goes well. ;)
