I was diagnosed with anemia long before pregnancy, and it's usually pretty easy to deal with. Iron pills, and eating healthy foods high in iron are your best bet, and are usually pretty effective. Most likely it won't pass down to your child, as usually the anemia is caused by the pregnancy itself, and will resolve itself after giving birth. Even if it's not like in my case, it's so easy to deal with that I really wouldn't stress too much about it. Just look up what foods to eat, and it also helps if you split your dose of iron in half and take the half dose twice a day instead of all at once!
