Avoid greasy foods, tomatoes, onions, garlic, citrus, and spicy. Dr might put you on an acid blocker but most drs prefer tums because it is milder. Don't eat for a few hours before bed. Water and liquids make acid reflux have more fluid and may not relieve it. Sugar has also been something that gives me a bad reaction.

My heartburn started when I was about 18 weeks and has gradually gotten worse. To the point, some nights I sleep sitting up. I've tried Tums, Zantac, and Pepcid (all recommendations from the doctor) but they did not work. Milk or a table spoon of mustard is the only thing that has worked!

Avoid meats and greasy food. Eat a lot of fresh fruits. Some say a little apple cider vinegar helps.

Armywife636 nailed it. I take the off brand of Zantac but the combination of both works best. Tums works in between times. The "Tums Smoothies Berry Fusion" are really good Also may have to start sleeping with a few more pillows under your head. Good luck

If it's keeping you from sleeping, use an extra pillow or two to prop yourself up a but. When you are laying totally flat it's easier for the acid to come up.  It's a little Weird to adjust to sleeping on an incline, but it helps a ton. :)

I usually take Tums thats what helps me. You can take stuff for it you should ask your dr fir a list of meds you can take and what foods to avoid.  If its keeping you up at nights. But I know Tums is approved.  Good luck:) hope it gets better:)
