2nd C Section Recovery Time

My dr wants me to schedule a c-section probably because i am gaining more weight than they wanted me to or afraid of complications and insisted their past patients had faster recovery time than their first experience. I want to avoid having a c-section so that i can go home as quickly as possible. I didnt go on pain killers after the surgery because i wanted to nurse. For those of you who had multiple c sections, can you share your recovery experience and why you had to to repeat another c section?

somewhere in the back of my mind, i thought they wanted to perform c-sections because the cost for the procedure is $$$$, luckily I have good health benefits so that's not a problem for me/us. This week's ultrasound, my baby is breeched, I hope he turns by week 36. Seriously, Im a little terrified.

Don't let them scare you. C- sections are easier for doctors because it takes less time. They don't like the wait of a vaginal birth. If you want a vbac have it and do not let them change your mind.

Thanks for sharing your stories. I'm praying for a successful VBAC so hopefully another emergency c-section will not take place. I feel much more relieved just from reading your experiences mommies. Thank you thank you! All the best wishes to you all.

1st was after 33+ hours of hardcore labor & I only dilated 2cm, my sons hb dropped so they rushe me to the OR, he had mecoinum aspiration (sp.?) and was in the NICU for 48 hrs. I couldn't stand straight for 4 weeks after, it hurt something fierce & I only took Tylonel cause the Stronger meds messed with me. Took a good 6-8 weeks to dell "normal again"

2nd was planned since I don't dilate & it was to risky, it was a breeze. I was walking 3 hours after I delivered my daughter as soon as my spinal wore off, only thing with that one was the gas pains in my shoulders, I felt like I couldn't breathe from them. But walking & gas meds cleared it up in about a day. I had her on a Friday morning I left the hospital early Sunday morning, and was feeling normal 2-3 weeks after I had her.

3rd an final will be the end of July & I'm praying it goes just like my second :-)

1st section was after 36+ hours of intense back labor. I gave one push and my daughters heart rate dropped they flipped me over threw on oxygen and brought me into emergency surgery. She was overdue. Had her first bowel movement inutero, her cord was bunched, she was face up and completely stuck at 8cm.

2nd was a repeat as it was clear I couldn't push out my large sized babies. Such a breeze. I wanted to go for a run right when I was released.

3rd a repeat scheduled at 39 weeks 2 days. Unfortunately my son passed away mere hours before his birth due to amniotic band syndrome.
My recovery was two fold as I was dealing with a horror story I would wish upon no one.

4th section was planned at 37 weeks. Recovery a breeze!

5th and final section this December.
