early ultrasound no heartbeat

I Had An Ultrasound Today. 5 Weeks 6 Days. Saw Gestational Sac And Yolk Sac. No HeartBeat Yet. Go Back In A Week. Does This Sound Normal?

Sounds perfectly normal. I measured smaller at my 1st u/s and the baby's heart rate was very low. Apparently it had just started beating within 24 hours or so prior to that one. Had one a week later and was relieved to find that the heart rate was normal.

Yes it is normal. Remember that they calculate due date from last menstrual period. This doesn't take into consideration when you ovulate. Some women ovulate early in their cycle others later. If you consider gestational age of the baby then the heart doesn't start beating until around 28 days. Hope that eases your mind. Next week will be better.

Yes, it's too early to be able to see much. Don't stress and hopefully next week you'll be able to see it.
