Getting checked??

Does it hurt when the doctor checks your cervix? I was told today that I will get checked at my 39 week visit in 2 weeks. I'm nervous!

It's been uncomfortable for me and slightly painful because I have not dilated any and he reaches all the way up there :( As others have said relaxing helps, I also wiggles my toes looking up.

Definitely uncomfortable, it can be painful when you  have a doctor who is in a rush or simply doesn't care about the patient being comfortable.

My first two pregnancies it was just uncomfortable, the last one though I have a fibroid that developed between pregnancy 2 and pregnancy 3, it's located close to my cervix and made it slightly more painful. I do agree though that you need to be relaxed, it definitely makes a difference

It's uncomfortable rather than painful. Just have to try to relax, the more tense you are the worse it will be. Best wishes!
