Traveling/Moving

So, as some of you know I have my c-section August 30th and my SO is deployed and will be home in November. I'm in Ohio with my family through the pregnancy, well when he gets home me and the baby are moving back to Georgia...we've decided that it would be easiest to move down in October so we can have our house and all set up when he gets home and actually be able to enjoy his leave...that will be 4 weeks after my c-section....I have family that is going to help with the move and a friend flying up from Georgia to ride down with me...how many of you have traveled/moved that soon after having a baby and after a c-section...4 weeks and a 12 hour move...lord help me lol

yeah Im 4 weeks since mine and i can pretty much function normally. don't get me wrong i get sore if i do too much and can't lift anything heavy but i lift babys pram and his car seat with him in it and he just shy of 12lbs. so think you be ok, but take it easy - the moment you start to feel sore, stop. good luck with the move x

I am just now 4 weeks post c section. I feel great!! The only issue I really have is a little tenderness at the incision when I wear jeans with my belt. I think you will be fine, just no super heavy lifting. I have been lifting and carrying my 30 lb 2 year old without any issues. All I can suggest is get up and move as much as possible right away after surgery. The more you move the better you will feel!! I was out of the hospital less than 24 hours after delivery because my lo was sent flight for life to a Nicu 2 hours away.

I didn't travel after my c-section but remember I was almost pain free after 2-3 weeks, I still had some discomfort but with family helping and a friend by your side u should be fine, just remember to stay positive, and u should not lift anything heavier than 10 pounds for I think 2 weeks after c-section, wish u good luck with everything!

Lol yeah that would suck. With him being deployed I'm def staying in Ohio until after I have her because I know for at least a week after the c-section I'm not going to be able to do much at all. A lot of people tell me I'm crazy for moving 4 weeks after but I would rather do it then and get it done so we can enjoy our time when he gets back. And on the up side most of my things are still packed from when I moved up here because I knew that after I had her I was moving back for when he got home

I didn't move right after my son was born i moved right before literally spent our first night at our new house on a Sunday and 2 days later on Tuesday i gave birth to my son! That was horribly difficult fort me cuz i was on bed rest for the last 8 weeks of my pregnancy and couldn't do anything the last day at our old house i stayed on the couch while my husband and my brother in law moved all of the heavy stuff out the couch and me were the last things to go in and the first things to come out lol :) i too had a lot of family helping though thankfully my 2 sisters came over and helped me pack the whole house up and my mother in law and her office assistant unpacked all my necessities the first day we were there :) it's not that hard if you've got family helping and my only problem was 2 weeks after my son was born i had to rearrange a lot of stuff cuz i didn't like where she had put it especially in my kitchen but those are things you can do later

Savannah. He is stationed at Ft Stewart. I would be more concerned but I have family to help move the heavy things since I'm sure 4 weeks after a c-section I'm not gonna be able to lift anything heavy
