HELP!!!

I have been prescribed phenergan for constipation since i haven't had a bm in two weeks!  I'm so sick behind it that I haven't been able to eat and I've lost weight. I get terrible headaches and unspeakable nausea. It's so debilitating that I can't even conduct a decent job search from home! I've missed  classes... I've been taking the phenegran for two days and still Nothing. I'm afraid it's going to come up the other way doing... any suggestions?

Docasate is a great stool softener and while you are on promethazine/Phenergan (great for nausea bad for constipation) it's definitely good to have something prophylactic on board.  Prune juice is great too. Definitely try to get out and get some walking in too. Again though, if it's been two weeks you are pretty backed up. Talk with your doc, but I would get some glycerin suppositories and use one. Not having a bm for that long puts you at risk for a getting a bowel obstruction.

Darnit I got that wrong again smh. I'm taking docusate. It's a red soft gel. So both the promethazine and docusate. my mind is jumbled. But I've been drinking Nothing But water. I've sent my fiance to get some prune juice so I hope that helps

Promethazine is an anti nausea drug - it's the generic of Phenergan.  It's not going to help constipation at all, it will actually make it worse. Try a glycerin suppository if it's been two weeks. They are safe for pregnancy (category B) and work fast. To maintain a healthy bowel regime (hard during pregnancy) increase your fiber and water intake. Try prune juice, lots of ruffage and walking. Colace is an over the counter stool softener that is approved for pregnancy as well.
