the thyroid is tricky and if your doctor prescribes thyroid, you should take it. As far as something you can do, there isn't much. And if it's a temporary issue, your doctor will let u know when to stop taking the thyroid medication.

My doctor told me pregnancy can really mess with thyroid. I tested normal while on medication but wanted to stop taking it and my levels went to the opposite extreme from when I first started meds.

So, if your doctor prescribed you Levothyroxinum  natricum wich will normalize ur TSH levels its great! You should take it daily, on empty stomach.. With water.. No milk or lemon juices as will neutralize the effect of medicine.
High level of TSH should be treated as can get to miscarriage, early birth, retardation ( more you can read on internet ).
Refferent parameters for pregnant woman are different then if you werent pregnant. If you werent pregnant normal would be till 4..and when pregnant should keep it arround 1,5.. So if your 7..should take ur medicine daily and dont stop on ur own, please.
He will check ur blood again after some time as this medicine needs time to help, cant fix all in a week.
Around 16-18 week of pregnancy baby deloveps his thyroid.
When you deliver, after a month or two, should check your TSH levels again..to see if maybe even before pregnancy you had hypothireosis.

thyroid must be below 3 in your first trimester.  i recommend taking the medicine as if your thyroid levels are off - this will caused brain defects of the baby.
