Is this early labor?

I'm 38 weeks pregnant and all day today I've been having an achy pain in my lower back with pressure in my butt and a tight feeling in my abdomen. Are these contractions? I also had some diarrhea yesterday and day before. I don't have any menstrual cramp feeling everywhere I read it says that's what contractions feel like and the discomfort/pain has been on and off all day there isn't really a pattern.

Might just have upset stomach but you will know soon enough if it's contractions because they will not go away and will get progressively more painful.

I hope it is labour for you, I ended up going 13 days over with my last one, it sucked. Good luck to you both x

How is it progressing?
I have had regular contractions since Sunday, painful last night, lost my plug today and then all the contractions stopped.
Very frustrating when I was sure last night I was in labour. I'm 38 plus 2 days. So ready for Bub to come.
