Low vitamin d

Has anyone been told their vitamin d was low. My doctor said mine was real low so they want me to take 4000 dosage daily which seems like a lot but I have never had a problem with my vitamin d being low so I'm not really sure what to expect.

I have had this problem pretty severe since I gave birth to my daughter 4 years ago. When they first checked it was at a 2, then they put me on 50,000 IU ever week and it went to 7, and its been fluctuating ever since. I have only ever gotten as high as a 22, and I have been as low as 1. It being so low makes you feel exhausted and when you do sleep you can sleep for many hours wake up and still be tired. It does make you feel like crap. If you have low D, take the suppliments and if it does not raise ask them to put you on a higher regiment. It can affect your calcium and other things as well.

Mine was low too and I take 5000 IU a day. My midwife said the same thing, it is just because we aren't getting it naturally from the sun during the winter months.

I was low on Vitamin D as well. I have to take 3000 mg a day, but my doctor said not to worry, as everyone is low on it during wintr-early Spring due to a lack of sunlight. I got these Vanilla VitaMelts from my local drugstore. They are great and actually taste decent. :)

Yes mine was low by 2 points of the low end. So I just take two of the vitamin d tablets, mine are also probiotic. Completely normal, especially since we can't get out in the winter and get natural vitamin d from the sun. Seems like a high amount, but by the time your body absorbs it, and baby steals their portion, you can hope that you are left with just the right amount. Lol.
