NEED TO VENT SO BAD

I just moved to another state in the middle off my pregnancy. I just started receiving benefits such as Medicaid and Tanf, I was working in the state I am from. I applied just until I have my daughter and get back to work. Well workforce wants me to go to orientation and start a job search. I understand the orientation but to start working at 21 weeks. To top it off I have no sitter for my 3 year old daughter. What to do!!!! I'm already stressing so bad and I don't know what to do or what's going to happen.

Didn't think of that, I will ask and let her know as soon as I get a hold of her.

U have an option to be exempt fro, working because of the age of ur child. OR they will provide daycare. They will not try and make u pay for daycare knlwin u cant even afford the basics, thats the point of having the TANF, just ask ur worker about what options u have for daycare and tell them u cant afford it, they will give u tmur options.

Yeah mine are the same way. I love my parents for everything they've done for me but I want something for myself this time.

Same here, I loved my job but where I moved they didn't have a transfer. My parents are willing to help me go to school, I just feel they are doing too much already.

Yeah if I had the money I'd go too school. If I could find work I'd work. I'd do anything just about before being on tanf

I honestly rather go to school right now until my daughter turns one.

what state are you from?

Yeah I'm 29weeks and they're making me do 22hours of community service a month. The state I live in won't exempt me even tho I'm disabled and pregnant and that I'm in the third trimester which is what they originally told me was an exemption

I love working, I'm a workaholic. I was looking forward in spending time with my daughter before going back to work. I wanted to go to school part time at least until my daughter was one. Maybe I will get except since I'm too far along. it's just so stressing since I just moved and starting over.

For me when I went to welfare I still went to the orientation but they ended up exempting me from work

You can do it! I'm a teacher and by the time the new school year starts in August,  I'll be 36 weeks. Good luck with the daycare! Look for sliding scale ones where they operate based on your income or have scholarship funds available.

I think so, I don't mind going back to work but I'm already  5 1/2 months pregnant. Just stressing so bad about a daycare, costs, employment and the doctor's visits while working.  I'll ask about those vouchers, that's a good idea.

Since you qualify for Tanf, you should be able to qualify for childcare vouchers as well. Find a sitter and go to the orientation. Then take your resume and sign up with local temperary agencies. You may get some bites,  you may not. The point is, it shows you are actively searching for employment. Unless there is a medical reason or you can afford it, you would've be working in your previous state while pregnant anyway, right?
