Has anyone dealt with SPD pain?

Hey everyone,

I am 26.5 weeks pregnant and lately I've been suffering with SPD (Symphysis Pubis Disorder). I have chronic pain in my back, hips and pelvic bones due to some dysfunction in my spine or Pelvic alignment . Nothing I seem to do provides much relief for very long. Sleeping at night has become especially difficult.

Does anyone have any recommendations about how I can manage this?

Thank you!

I had this pain my entire pregnancy. It especially hurt when trying to get dressed or put on shoes! Go see a chiropractor who specializes in pregnancy. I'm 37w3d and have had 2 adjustments this week. The first adjustments this whole pregnancy, and I have tons of energy and my body doesn't hurt now! I spent almost my entire pregnancy not able to walk through a grocery store or bend down or get off the couch. Come to find out, my entire spine, neck and both hips were out of alignment. I can't recommend it enough! I can't believe the difference in just 2 visits!

My sister-in-law using a chiropractor and it helps her a ton.
She went from basically confined to the couch she hurt to much to being able to move without pain after just s couple of sessions.

I've had this problem with both pregnancies and seen both physios and osteopath. You will need a support belt/tubi-grip to wear over your pelvis to keep it tight. Sleep with a pillow between your legs. Whenever you need to move your legs keep the level and together (like when getting out of bed and in and out of a car). When walking take very short steps. Do kegel exercises. Hope that helps!
