Pain in groin area

I am a ftm and am currently 36+2, for the past week I've been having pain in my groin area when I lay down. I wake up in the middle of the night and feel fine until I walk to the bathroom to pee or to get a drink of water from the kitchen then it hurts. Kind of like I went horseback riding or did a split without stretching, is anyone experiencing this? If so, any ideas on what it is??

If you've only had it for a week so far, consider yourself lucky ;) I'm 28+ and have had it for at least 5 weeks.. Second baby; and it was the same with the first-who is 15 months old. The only thing I find that helps the slightest is a magic bag (heated). I also sleep with a pillow between my legs to keep my legs straight- doesn't do a lot, but helps a tiny bit.. Just our body's prepping to meet our babies

I'm due in 10 days and I am currently having the same problem. I already know my son is head down and in the proper position for birth. Since I am a first time mom, I kept asking everyone why I'm having pain. I thought maybe it was because I'm getting close to going into labor, but I honestly have no clue. My dr hasn't checked me yet and won't check me until the day before my due date. I have no clue if I'm dilated or not. Is there anyway you can check at home? I understand it's not a guarantee as to when I'll go into labor, I'd like to know I'm at least making progress towards that direction though!

Im due in 4 days. I know how you feel!!! Same exact thing is happening to me. Its normal. Your body is releasing a hormone called relaxin to loosen up your pelvic joints and get ready for delivery!!

I experience it already and I'm 27weeks. I had it with my lady two pregnancies too. I could never describe it other than saying "it feels like my vag bones are about to break or fall out" lol but its normal just your body beginning to prepare for labor. Nothing you can really do to ease or prevent it in my experience. But I pray your strength to bear it Momma, not much longer!
