Period like cramps

I'm 35 weeks and right now I'm getting period like cramping in my pelvic area... its not braxton hicks because this is a constant feeling and my uterus isn't tightening... And the cramping is lower... I really feel like I'm on my period...is this normal? What could it mean?

I've been experiencing the same thing. I am 34 weeks. In addition to the cramps and Braxton hicks, I also have a dull lower back pain similar to my period. I was told by my doctor that it was normal. She also, told me to drink lots of water and elevate my feet. Spent a couple, days just listening to my body, hydrating and elevating my feet and the cramping got better and the Braxton hicks eased up. I think our bodies are preparing.

I had this as well. Doctor told me it was my body preparing for labour. I think it is something you should tell your doctor at your weekly check up, just to make sure they are aware of all your symptoms.

That's the thing..I went to the hospital a few days ago from contractions and turned out I was dehydrated.. Got hooked up to some IVs and have been drinking water non stop since then... This doesn't feel like contractions though.... just a dull ache in my pelvic area...
