I never took any prenatals-im 37 weeks Tuesday and my baby and I are in perfect health and have had a beautiful pregnancy. I took a folic acid supplement until 20 weeks and then at 28 weeks started taking an iron supplement in preperation for birth (my iron was low) . They are definitely NOT a waste, especially with Thr way most people eat and deprive themselves of proper nutrition. I on the other hand am 100% confident in my eating patterns and didn't feel it was necessary :)

I keep forgetting to take mines. Maybe only take 4 per week if I'm lucky. I need to try and take them more I think.

I take mine everyday.. i try to take it with chocolate milk bc its thicker and hides the pill more lol. My regular dr told me to take them long before even trying to get pregnant.  I thought she was crazy but it is multi vitamin and multi mineral so there are a lot of benefits.

I took them with my first 2 pregnancies. My 3rd pregnancy I refused because the thought of that big pill made me gag. This pregnancy (my 4th) I have yet to take them, but now my hubby insists! So my doc said if you can't stomach them to supplement them by taking 2 of the chewable kids Flintstone vitamins a day. I'm going to try that. I'm already in my 2nd trimester so I suppose it's time to get moving on this matter. Either way, eating healthy is key

It is not a waste. For something like spines bifeda, taking prenatals that contain folic acid is the only way you can try to prevent it besides diet. There are things that your baby needs that most people don't get enough of just from diet. Especially since you don't mind them I would continue taking them.

Keep taking them! They offer you and baby last necessary vitamins and minerals including folic acid, which is particularly important for your baby.
