High HCG levels at 4 weeks 6 days? Anyone else?

I had my first ultrasound at 4 weeks 6 days because I had some mild mentral type craming (no bleeding) (which has now been gone for four days) I'm now 5w 2d today.  We only saw the gestational sac and maybe the start of an yolk sac, but the doc couldn't say for sure.  I know it's too early to see much, but the doctor said that she thought she might see more because my HCG was at 7,000. I looked at some charts and my numbers seem so very high and I know that can lead to bad news.  Has anyone else had such high numbers early on and had a healthy pregnancy?  I have another appt. at 5w4d, so hopefully we will see yolk sac for sure.

P.S. I'm almost 100% sure that I'm not farther along, if I am it's only by two days at most.  Thanks for any info.

I had twins and early on HCG lvls are not an indicator of twins.  I am currently pregnant with a single baby and a girl.  My hcg levels were really high.  At about 7weeks they were at 188,000.  Baby s totally healthy and just fine.  I did read however that girl babies tend to have higher hcg levels AND you may have ovulated or implanted sooner than you think.  But no you cannot use hcg levels as an indicator of twins.

Any update on your pregnancy? I have high levels at 3 weeks 3 days (970). I am certain of ovulation and date of conception. What were your levels early on? How are things going?

Thanks for any advice.

Well, they didn't check my levels again, which I though was weird.  They did do an ultrasound and only seen one Gestation sac, fetal pole, and a little flicker(I'm 5weeks4days, measuring 5w6d).  The doc said she couldn't clearly see the yolk sac but that was probably because my bladder was so full. The doctor also said that the lab may have messed my numbers up.  I have another appt. in two weeks when I'm 7w4d so we will know more then, hopefully.  Fingers crossed xxx

My friend never had bleeding but they did see something at her 10 week u/s that they thought ment twin.... With vanishing twins they tend to just absorb into your body... On my other forum there is a girl that just went though vanishing twin and no bleeding either

I have been reading so many things and it's so stressful.  I've even been hoping it was a twin or something because I don't want it to be a molar pregnancy as I hear those are horrible. Munnymelza, did you have any bleeding?  Majikat, did your friend ever bleed that you know of?  We only saw one ges sac at 4 weeks 6 days, but I have another one at 5 weeks 4 days.  Pregnancy is so stressful, people worry for numbers not being high enough, and some worry because numbers are too high.  =(  =(

twins cause higher hcg as well and four weeks is really really early some people dont even see the gestational sac at that point

my friend had crazy high hcg too and she had vanishing twin syndrome

They thought my levels were really high too. The only reason for that was twins thedoc told me ( or further along but you ruled that out) they reckon I lost one of them about a week after that blood test with the high HGH levels. I'm not saying you are having twins cause I'm sure there could be other reasons for it but it could be a possiblity ? Hope that helps :)
