baby in the 22% growth at 25 wks??

I'm high risk because I had my son @25 wks 12 yrs ago. So I've been taking progesterone shots. I get an ultrasound every 2 wks and yesterday I got one and had to see a diff high risk Dr cuz mine was on vacay. This Dr told me that my baby is in the 22% and that if by my next ultrasound she doesn't grow then we will look at getting me on steroids and taking her out!!! I'm terrified! As soon as I got to the car I broke down. I don't know what I will do if I have to have another tiny baby not knowing if she will live. The Dr estimated she weighed 1lb 5oz. I really just want to talk to my normal Dr but can't until 2 wks. Has anyone had this happen? Am I not as far along as I thought? I want my baby to grow like crazy in the next 2 wks! Help!!

Thank you everyone. I'm trying not to stress and I've uped my protein intake and trying to drink more milk even tho I hate the taste lol. I can't see my Dr much sooner cuz he's going to b on vacation for a while. But as soon as he comes back I'm going to see him. It does make me feel a little better knowing that the ultrasounds r not extremely accurate. I already know that I will b having my daughter at 36-37 wks no matter what by caesarian so I'm really hoping she will get to stay in there till then and b as big as she can be! Thank you once again for all ur prayers, I know that's what helped my son after he was born and in the hospital. I really appreciate it :)

That sounds terrifying! I'm at 21 weeks right now. I was told recently that if my placenta doesn't rise I might need a cesarean when the baby is due. But I can't imagine what I'd do if the doctor told me my baby would have to be taken out prematurely. Maybe try drinking lots of milk and water.

I know it'll be hard, but try not to stress too much. I'm sure it's not good for the baby and won't help it grow. My prayers go out to you and your baby.

Try not to freak out. I would try to get in with your usual doctor ASAP. There will always be small babies. I've done some reading on the topic because I make small babies. Some people swear by adding more protein to your diet. I've been eating more protein because of some blood issues, and my last ultrasound showed he had grown quite a bit. Might not be anything to it, but it's worth a shot.  Also, those ultrasounds really are not very accurate at measuring baby's size. They told me my son was 8 lbs 12 hours before he was born and he was 6 lb 8 oz. I know it's hard, but try to stay calm and take care of yourself.
