40 weeks 2 days.. So anxious

absolutely no signs of labor and I'm now over due. I've been doing pretty much every self induction wives tale in the book. Really fearing that she won't come on her own and I'll have to be induced... My last appointment I wasn't dilated at all. Any advice on how to get things going? Has anyone done anything that actually worked?

I know its hard ive went over due with my 1st by 7 days and my 2nd by ten days..i probably would of gone over with my 3rd if it wasnt for a last minute midwife app were she found his heart rate to be too low (cord around his neck) so i had to be induced 2 days before my due date he arrived a day later. Im a day away from my due date now with baby no4 and i have no signs of labour other than cramping ive had for 3 weeks. A health assistant came to check my blood pressure at hm yesterday and i told her how fed up i was and how i expected her to have been here by now after my sweep and seen as though shes my 4th and she said thats exactly why you haven't had her then. App when your pregnant and you get anxious about expecting the little one to make an appearance you naturally excrete a hormone that counteracts any contractions and other labour symptoms etc. She said your best just relaxing and forgetting about it and then when you least expect it its starts to happen. My first daughter was five days overdue and I thought I was gonna lose my mind. I tried to have my doctor induce me he said no wait 4 more days and I cried. Then I went to eat with my mom and on the way home they put Mr out the car and made me walk up a very steep hill. I went to sleep woke up cuz I thought I was peeing on myself. I changed the sheets and underwear layed back down and my water finished breaking. This happend the day before I was scheduled to be induced. Moral to my story it's hard but be patient baby will come when baby is ready. Good luck.

I feel ya. Three days till our due date and no labor. I guess the best thing to do is try not to stress and just relax. Go for a walk if it feels right. Anxiety may be our enemy.
