So frusterated

Went into labour today. Started off at 2cm, and was sent home at 4cm dialated and 70 percent effaced because they stopped my labour, because by law they have to try as long as you're under 39 weeks. I'm 36 weeks!!! Alot of people deliver at 36 weeks. :(( I just want her out.

Here anyone under 36 weeks 5 days gets transported to a hospital better equipped to care for a preemie but anything later and it's okay, they'd prefer closer to 40 weeks but 37+ is considered full term but I do know the next town you need to be 38+ weeks as they don't have a specialist dr. I'd be frustrated and next time wait until you cannot bear to be home before going to hospital if you're in active labour I don't think they can stop it, especially if your waters have broken

Wow that sounds super frustrating! I've never heard of anyone stopping labour at 36 weeks. If anything I've just heard of people getting steroid shots to help the baby

Oh goodness! 8 pds at 36 weeks!?! I would be like you and want her out lol. Give her to week 37 if you can then start trying to put yourself into labor. That way she won't be counted as a premee and she is full term. That is what I would do. They are taking mine a week early due to medical issues.

Well she's definitely not the size of one. She's weighing in at 8 pounds. :(

Tell them no! It's your body and your choice. You have to consent to take things.

I live in Illinois. They want me to go to 39 weeks. :/ They gave me two shots, four IVs, and four pills to stop labour.

Hang in there. I know you can't wait to meet your little one. That extra week or more that you can get really helps develop baby's lungs and give her a much easier start at birth. Even at 36 weeks, babies can have a harder time breathing versus 37 weeks on. She'll be perfect and ready to go very soon and she'll be well worth the wait.

That is so frustrating. I had that with my last son. I was exactly 37 weeks. I  was dilated to 3 cm and they sent me home. 3 hours later I was 8 cm. I had my son an hour later. I hope everything works out for you.
