Is it true?

That there's absolutely nothing that can be done if you're leaking amniotic fluid at 19 weeks?????

I'm a bigger girl so i don't feel much yet but it is becoming more frequent. I do have a Doppler so i get a quick listen in every night.

So resting is helping a lot. I ended up having to do some running around today and the leak got worse.

Hospitals here are so different. The L&D ward won't see you until your 20 weeks and won't really do much until 24 weeks.

I was at my prental class at my soon to be delivering hospital and the nurse there told us that they were celebrating not to far back about the longest women to be on bed rest at the hospital. Her water broke about the time your is and was delivered at full term. I am not sure exactly what they did but with antibiotics and fluid they were able to keep baby inside till term. I believe there is hope don't give up until you get answers!

That Makes sense Since You Mucous Plug Regenerates. How Many Days Till Your Dr is Back? Just Continue To Take It easy Over The Weekend. Hopefully By Next Week Things Will Get Back To Normal.

Havent seen my OB yet. I will next week. I notice the leak had seemed to slow down. But that could be because I'm taking it easy and not working.  I know it can't be a bad one because when I sleep nothing "pools up" so to speak. I wake up dry.

I am wondering, is it possible to have a slow leak if you lose your mucus plug until it comes back??

My advice is to pray pray and pray some more and trust in God. Some doctors are heartless. My water broke with my first daughter and I had no idea. It was a very small hole and I didn't notice any fluid leakage. So when I went to the er BC I was 4 days over due they noticed that my water was already broken when they tried to place the Foley bulb ( I'm not sure if this is the correct term or spelling for the ball that is supposed to put pressure on the cervix to make it dilate). Well since I've made a short story long. My point is that neither I nor the dr knows how long my water was broken BC the leak was so small that its possible that it was missed during my exams ! My water cld have been broken for days or even weeks! The dr did start me on antibiotics to prevent infection.  I have a healthy 13 yr old now . God is magnificent!

Definitly wait it out, or find another ob for a second opinion.  That all sounds so rediculous!

That is so heartless to basically tell you to give up on your baby. What a beep! A few more weeks and baby is considered viable outside the womb. If it a slow leak I would think with the proper rest and care that there is a good possibility of making it a few weeks if not longer.

You're only 19 weeks & they want to induce you for a slow leak???? That doesn't sound like good advice in my opinion... but I guess I'm also no a dr... =/

What? That doesn't sound right. If it's a slow leak and the fluid is only slightly low why is she not buying the baby time?

So, trying to find some answers i spoke to the OBGYN on call and she recommended i go back to the hospital to be induced.
