A very good friend of mine is just like you,  she was so nervous for the delivery because she hates pain,  needles, anf blood. She gets very anxious just setting foot in anxious hospital.  So she wasn't sure how she was going to deal with thr delivery, but when her water broke and the time came she just dealt with it without even thinking about it.  It's very normal to be nervous, especially with your first. But you will be surprised at what you are able to handle and deal with when the time comes.  Good luck!!

Hi, I'm a ftm due Oct 6th. I don't think anyone explaining the pain is going to help your anxiety. It seems like everyone's experience is different. It would probably help if you can take a child birth class or read some books so you can start mentally preparing yourself for the process in a positive way. If you go into labor with negative thoughts and expectations it probably isn't going to be a good experience.

In the beginning I felt the same way about the pain being unbearable but after reading about people's experiences and starting my class I feel much more comfortable. Our bodies are designed for this and there are things we can do to minimize the pain... Think positive. Good luck!
