Thirsty!

Hi Ladies! I am wondering if its normal to be extreemly thirsty all of the time. I just started getting parched a lot about a week ago. It feels like I am thirsty even right after I drink a glass of water. And I swear I've gained 10lbs in a week... I already tested negative for gestational diabetes. But I am a little worried that maybe it could develop later? Or is increased thirst normal in the last trimester?

Just to let you know it could be a sign of your blood sugar being high but no telling unless you get tested....it can definitely be normal

Same here I drink tons of water and never really feel, not thirsty.  I have gone to eating ice chips too and that has seemed to help a little.  But I always seem to be parched. I think it is pretty normal.

I agree with shastas84, I been drinking a lot more water in my last trimester as well. I'm always crazy thirsty n I only want cold water. But I think its pretty normal, I think there is nothing to worry about:-)

I've always chugged fluids during the last trimester. The baby's increased need, the increase in blood volume and the body gearing up to breast feed all conspire to make you super thirsty. Yes I have always alerted the dr when it happens just in case of gestational diabetes. Good luck! :)
