I am 39 weeks an have tried everything but castor oil because I don't want to poop myself! Nothing has worked obviously! I am having a ton of contractions but not progressing BUT this is what I personally have tried, maybe it will work for you; raspberry keytone tablets, evening primrose capsules, figure 8s on birthing ball, spicy food, taping marbles to pressure points in ankles, pressure points on webbing of hands and in center of Palm, sex, nipple stimulation, bouncing on birthing ball, walking, stairs, I am sure I have done a few more but those are the ones that I can remember right now! Good luck!

Ps don't tell me if it works for you, I might cry! lol!!! oh one other thing I haven't tried but heard it works is going for a drive over those belly hills and bumps...I don't want to break my car and figured the bouncing on ball was the same difference

39 weeks. And still no baby. All these contractions but still no progress. Went for a long walk the other day and i keep loosing a little more of the bloody show every morning. I don't  want to try castor oil either. Lol I'm  going to try pressure points. Hopefully something will happen soon. Good luck to you both

I don't understand why everyone who wants to induce labour is scared of castor oil. Its the answer are looking for. I'm sure you would rather empty your bowels before u give birth instead of during birth!

Walking hasnt even worked for me. I went for a long walk this afternoon and it actually made my contractions go away. Not what I wanted. But they are back again as i try to sleep and still not close enough

My dr told me to use my breast pump for 10 minutes on each side, 3 times a day and it definitely is working. I'm 37+5 and i have to put myself into labor any way i can. Also, semen helps soften the cervix as well as otgasm making the uterus contract. Both are at least speeding up the process for me :)

side steps up and down the stairs works! If baby is backwards facing it can help them to turn too. It opens up the pelvis more and excercises those muscles that will be used in labour! Xx

Well... Babie will come out when they're ready... Like ripe fruit lol

Castor oil can give vicious diarrhea so that might be the issue.

But, I do cleanses and sometimes they involve enemas. Enemas can trigger contractions. I think midwives did those in the past and some facilities still do(call the midwife anyone?). It helps you not poop while pushing, for most I read at least too. As long as it helps I guess..

The thing with castor oil isn't just that it gives you serious diarhhea, but it can lead to dehydration.  And that's the last thing you want when going into labor.
