I wouldn't get any other piercings but I'm sure the monroe is fine. I had one since i was 17 and im now almost 20 and 32 wks pregnant. It's been no issue at all. But I'm taking it out before I go into labor because if I have to have an emergency c section they make you take them out. And mine is sooo hard to remove and put back in. I may just get a clear all plastic spacer a couple weeks before so I don't have to worry about getting it re pierced. They close up really quickly unfortunately. Best wishes on your baby!

i was told tattoos the only problem is the ink might give u a reaction u wouldnt normally have due to hormones. the baby is not affected by what happens outside of your body, unless u were to pass out or something.

If you've had it that long, and don't have or hadn't had any issues with it, I'd say you're fine to just keep it. If it happens to be red, throbbing, painful, swollen around the piercing site, then I'd go to the doctor, and have them give you PREGNANCY SAFE antibiotics to fight infection, and also clean the site regularly and often.

If you happen to have a flesh color bump form around the site of the piercing which causes slight pain, or just doesn't "look right" that is called a Keloid, and is a symptom of a possible impending infection, and needs to be routinely cleaned often as well, and (thankfully) during pregnancy we are okay to take Tylenol, which when you get a Keloid, you can mash up the tablet form of a Tylenol and add just enough water to it to create a paste and apply it to the bump 2-3 times a day, it will take the swelling of the bump down, and make it heal quicker. That way you don't jeopardize the piercing, or risk infection, just create the paste and leave it on until it becomes dried up then wash/wipe it off. Do it until you see results, (maybe a week or longer).

(experienced with piercings as I've got 12 myself, and have a pretty good relationship with my tattoo/piercing artist. He actually told me about the Tylenol, which isn't a very well known fact, but I've done it with several of the piercings I've had because I tend to develop the Keloid with any ear related piercings, and thought I was going to have to lose my new piercings, but he explained you can take care of it with the Tylenol paste you make with water.)

Good luck! It shouldn't be a problem as long as you've got the right type of metal in the piercing, and you keep it clean. It's not like you had any way of knowing you were pregnant at the time. Also beware, when I was hospitalized for preterm labor, the nurses told me when you go in for labor, they make you take out any piercings that are metal. I'd invest in a plastic retainer strictly for your piercings just for D-Day (lol) as they will have you take the piercings out if they are metal due to a burn risk factor if you must go for surgery/c-section and during labor all metal must go.

Sounds like its fine! I'd say leave it in and enjoy it. I sliced my finger really bad at work a couple weeks ago, went to the er got 4 stitches and I was so concerned about infection. The er dr wasn't concerned at all so as long as its properly taken care of and all healed, I'd leave it in! Just my opinion though. :P

No. Piercings Are A No. Just Like Tattoos. Anything That Seems Traumatic To Your Body Can Hurt The Baby. It Takes A While Fo One To Heal Completely. As Long As Your Keeping An Eye On It You Should Be Fine. But Any Sign Of An Early Infection It Needs To Be Taken Out.

I don't see why it wouldn't be. So long as there is no sign of infection.
