When to tell our 4 yr old we are pregant

I am currently 5 weeks pregnant. With in the last 7 months I have had two miscarriages. One at 5 weeks and the other at 12 weeks. We had told our 4yr old daughter about the pregnancy that went to 12 weeks. To say the least she was heart broken and still asks when we are going to have another baby because she misses the baby that died.  My question... When should we tell our 4 year old that we are going to be having another baby?  I was pretty sure that at 13 weeks we would have been in the clear with the first miscarriage but we were not and now I'm just not sure when to tell her.

We have told the kids after a 12 week scan. I think mostly because i couldn't keep a secret anymore lol
As for miscarriages.... We can still loose a baby at any time..... I lost 3 and one of them was at 21 week..... But i must say my son were only 2 at yhat point so didn't really understand what was going on....
With this baby my daughter is asking me every day how long is it till May lol

I brought it up to my 4 year old after my 13 week ultrasound. I have had a mc he never knew about it though. When you feel comfterble with the pregnancy then i say that would be when. Sorry for your loss and wish you the best.

I have a 6 and 4 yer old... And a 5 week old. I never told my boys until I was showing, and even then they didn't really notice!! Children have no concept of time... A minute, to hour, to day, to week, to month to year. I think that with your experiences and losses, which I am very sorry about, you should wait to tell your LO until you know that you and baby are in the clear. Your 4 year old doesn't know that it takes 9 months for a baby to develop so waiting a few months to tell her that she is going to be big sister.

Good luck and I wish you a happy and healthy 9 months!!

You could wait until 14 weeks as you'll most likely be showing by then as its not your first pregnancy. The risk of miscarriage drops off dramatically at this point. I always thought it was 12 weeks but the stats on significantly change from 14 weeks. I'm sorry to hear of your losses and hope you have an extra sticky beam this time round xx

I'm so sorry for your losses.

I would wait this time until you are very obviously showing - so that she would be wondering why your belly is sticking out.

I hope this one works out for you!
