Ive had asthma since the age of 4. Im 29 now and have been using the albuterol inhaler all my life. I have 2 kids and used the inhaler throughout my pg. Im pg with my 3rd and still use it as needed. My kids are perfectly healthy. My ob said the inhaler is fine. Not sure on the singular though.
Had asthma since I was about 8. I've always had albuterol inhalers and I definitely wouldn't use it while pregnant. You can look up certain exercises to help open up your lungs if you're having an attack. The army taught me how to breathe properly and control my anxiety so my attacks aren't as bad anymore. The baby is making it a bit harder now but so far I haven't needed my inhaler. I've gotten well enough that I've only had to hit it maybe a handful of times a year in the last 5 years.
Some medicines are not so safe during pregnancy. But, sometimes the risk of not taking them is worse than taking them. I have seasonal asthma/ allergies. I have been on my inhaler, sinus meds, and 2 rounds of antibiotics in the past 2 weeks.when having respiratory problems such as asthma, when an attack happens it usually causes a fast raipid heartbeat and anxiety. This is not good for the baby. That is why a breathing treatment with the machine is a last resort. If the medicine helps control your breathing and helps you maintain a good respiratory level I would take them. Your doctor isn't going to prescribe something that's going to do more harm than good. My mother has full blown chronic asthma. I have been around this my entire life. Take the meds, its better for you in the long run.
I have asthma and I'm 30+6 I've only had to use my inhaler a few times during this pregnancy and it was prescribed so its safe.
I had an asthma attack and had to go to er. They gave me a breathing treatment and an albuterol inhaler. I use it as needed. It's perfectly fine and safe.
My OBGYN told me my inhaler is safe to use, I've had asthma since I was 11 yrs old. 1st pregnancy! :-)
I've had asthma since elementary school. It's definitely been worse throughout my pregnancy. I take singulair every night and I have to use my inhaler often. Last week, my doctor gave me Advair, which is an inhaled steroid. She told me that all are safe for the baby!
This is my 2nd pregnancy and I was told to keep taking my inhalers because your heart and lungs are doing more work so its important that I didn't get breathing problems! You shoukd definitely keep taking them!
