thanks ladies...in these last few weeks I feel like my brain is just shot...and I just realized I could go as early as 3 weeks from now and kind of freaked out that my bag was not ready...
I brought diapers, wipes, olive oil (put on baby's bottom for sticky first poo), blankets, clothes for both, clear soup, thick soup, shampoo, body soap, comfy clothes, camera, batteries, phone and charger, baby book for prints, activity for you to do while laboring, list of people to contact, proper spelling of baby's name in case you are not the one filling out paperwork, and carseat. I know it is a monster list, but you will honestly use most of it.
I sleep naked and was free to do so at the birthing center. After birth I showered dried off wore a towel while I cleaned up baby put baby in bed dropped the towel and napped while I nursed baby... birthing centers are private and open to a natural home like environment. Do what you would do at home.
I had my son in birth centre but still ended up sfaying in over night, so I would still pack some comfy pjs just incase x
Something to labor in- like a lose fitting gown, nursing top or loose t shirt. You will want to shower- at least shampoo, conditioner and soap. Food- light snacks and hydrating drinks. Going home clothes for you and baby- something comphy because you will not feel like really wearing clothes. Essentials like light makeup to make you feel pretty because you won't be feeling that way. Music, aromatherapy and anything else you want during labor that they don't provide. My birthing center provides nothing no adult or baby soap, diapers, gowns, baby clothes or anything else. They provide a place and someone to deliver your baby, that's all. Anything you and baby will need you probably need to take it. You and baby need to clean up, eat, clothing and baby needs diapers even for a few hours... good luck.. I got to remember those things when I go UN to deliver my baby.
