38 weeks and still not dilating

38 weeks and still not dilating is this normal?? I would love to dilate at some point to give me hope these last two weeks of pregnancy. Is there a reason why I'm not dilating I know everyone and every pregnancy is different.

It will happen, momma, your baby is just very comfy right now. :-)

I am 37w and at my last appt 2 days ago, I was told I was 1cm dilated, but it didn't mean anything- could still be weeks before it happens, but like you, I am (not so) patiently waiting and excited for the big day.

I'm in the same boat here. I know it's not a guaranty that you'll go into labor soon but it is at least one step closer to getting there. I'm so miserably uncomfortable right now that if I went into labor I'd be the happiest person in the world; for more than just to have my little man here at last as well.

No you chill out I only have 2 weeks left and if it excites me that I am dilating than let it and don't you take that joy from me. So you chill with your rude comments this question was for those that can answer and that had compassion for others enough to help answer this question.

Checking for dilation only tells you just that, if you are dialating or not. It is not an indicator of when you will go into labor or give birth. So chill out

I'm a ftm and I didn't start dilating until 38 1/2 weeks. First I was only .5 cm dilated and now I'm 1 cm- I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow. Every pregnancy is different is guess
