breastfeeding whole pregnant.

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and my son is breastfeeding still (11mos). I keep hearing breastfeeding is bad when pregnant and can cause miscarriage? Plus, he is starting to eat more solid food during the day, but any advice on how to help wean or get him full to sleep through night?(we don't want to give formula and he don't like baby cereal)

Im 10 weeks along with 10 months baby girl and this month ive started to decrease the times i breastfeed. My doctor suggests i stop because the cramps that are caused by breastfeeding have become stronger and at one time made me spot a little. But if i didnt have these complications it wouldve been safe for me to continue. Anyway what im doing with my baby is giving her baby oatmeal with formula milk mixed so its very runny. Then sweet potato mashed with formula, banana mashed with formula and right before she sleeps oatmeal again with lots of formula, that way shes not too hungry during the night and only wakes up once.  I notice the more i give her the formula the more shes getting used to it. I give her other foods in between and maybe an ounce of formula in bottle here and there. I read they should be drinking 16 oz - 24 oz of milk so try to make sure shes drinking that much. I feed her while she watches tv to distract her. Good luck

I nursed my two year old though this entire pregnancy and baby is fine. I actually breastfed through almost all of my pregnancies except the first two.

In most cases breastfeeding is perfectly safe to do during pregnancy. Unless you are high risk for preterm labor or have other health problems that make breastfeeding impossible you should be fine.
