Actually, its the naturally occurring tryptophan in milk that can help you get to sleep. (the same amino acid that's in Turkey) it makes no differencif its warm or cold-warm milk is just usually more comforting, I guess. I can't stand warm milk, personally. For a completely natural sleep aid with no risk of dependency or harming your baby, try Melatonin. Its the chemical your brain produces to make you feel sleepy. Even 1mg is usually enough to help me drift off to sleep. Don't take higher than 3mg, it can change how much of the chemical your brain produces.

I cant wait to have a good sleep, i think im having this restless leg syndrome, my legs arnt good at night, even if i take a walk in the evening... my husband works 12.5 hour shifts, one week nights, next week days, sometimes i go in the lounge and just sit on the sofa so he can have a good nights sleep, atleast when the baby arrives other family members will help out, but for now theres not much anyone can do for us until the arrival, i cant wait to sleep on my tummy again!!! Am almost 35weeks with my first
Warm milk does not induce sleep nor does cold milk hinder sleep. Some people find milk helps them, but not everyone. The temperature of regular store bought milk makes no difference to your body. The best thing to do is avoid sugar and fat before bed. Lavender also has some natural oils to calm your body. Good luck
