cant force labor

I read an article on another preggo app and it wouldnt allow me to copy and paste so I will summarize because I feel that alot of women on this app need this info. It basically states that the way modern medicine operates it makes women lose faith in their bodies to do what its suppose to do naturally. Doctors do cervical checks on women at their appts that have brought up symptoms of being in labor. This makes some women feel as though they should be at a phase in their pregnancy and worry about things that are non existent at the moment. Such as, inducing labor. If your body isnt showing any signs of labor the issue could simply be that your body isnt ready to go into labor. Some doctors bein doing cervical exams at 37 when a woman could only be 35 weeks, even if they do one at 39 weeks the woman could be only 37 weeks. Thus making a woman lose faith in herself and obsess about her labor when she should be focusing on preparing for motherhood. I just feel this is important because of the never ending posts about how to induce labor and why arent they in labor yet.

I honestly didnt start worrying about it perse as much as I was like "Omg almost done yet still not dilating?!" Despite that I had already been having contractions on top of it. 37 wks and I wasnt dilating so yeah, I started considering other ways to induce labor. Then today, after a weekend of hell, I was told I dilated to 1cm. So... yeah... walking shoes are on and Im wanting to do a marathon lol. Im probably not going to go drastic with castor oil... but Im willing to try pineapple juice.

Yes some women do have a higher pain tolerance. I know i don't complain because I am aiming for an all natural birth amd just tell myself that any pain I feel during pregnancy is no where close to what labor is going to be. Every woman has different pregnancies so I am not saying that some women don't need assistance I am saying that some women began to worry about it entirely too early.

This does make sense... except for one thing and yes Im bringing divine intervention into this... because in the end no matter what we try its not up to us. In the end if the baby is meant to be born then he or she will be and we can chalk it up to us having "induced" labor by choking down castor oil or by using evening. primrose oil... but in the end it was obviously meant to happen for whatever reason. And we deal with the outcome of it whether good or bad.

I know theres a lot of posts of women talking about inducing labor and whatnot and if you guys have the capability to endure what pain they might be going through - the physical pain of pregnancy that brings us to tears not the "I miss my old self" complaints - then more power to you. But I know that me, personally, after the weekend I went through battling dehydration, contactions, and other physical pains... losing all my hours at work because of what Ive listed... and only now being at a 1cm at 38wks... Im done. I want my last child out and I want to hug the lil troublemaker who's been making me go in and out of L&D every Friday night these last 4 wks.
