Some celebrity on tv blended it and drank it in a fruit smoothie right at hospital.  Im sorry but I can't barely eat regular meat without getting grossed out.

I'm having a water birth and getting my placenta encapsulated :-) it has many health benefits! You see animals all the time consuming theirs after birth. I heard a good way to eat it without encapsulating it is to chop it into little pieces and freeze them then put into smoothies because cooking it at a high temp would take away the benefits

After sister was born 15 years ago. My mom kept hers and hacked it up into like 6 pieces and planted shrubs/flowers with it . We always had the best yard on the block hahahah. She swears it was because of the nutrients mixed with the nutrients of the ground.

I've heard of people doing this but it grosses me out. I've also heard of people planting it in gardens sounds a little better lol. But whatever you want to do I would just look up how to cook it first

I hope i like it! Lol if not ill probably pput it outside and feed some plants with it.  I kind of think its beautiful in a way. How  we can make an entire organ to support another life! If anything i want to bury it.

^^^ exactly! Think about it, we spend 9 months nourishing it enough to grow us a healthy baby essentially, something that good shouldn't go to waste. I believe its possible of all those things.
I'm still going to look in to it with water birth.
Encapsulation costs around 150$ dollars (but the place is 2 hours away so I have to pay for shipping and make sure she can make it in the time frame after I deliver :/  btw- my friend said the stroganoff was horrid, chewy, and smelled lol!!! I couldn't stomach it!

This isnt 100% scientifically true.
It is merely a practice commen among the chinese & i believe australia
Correct me if im wrong.
People claim that it can help with post partum depression, increasing milk supply, overall giving your body back some nutrients it may have lost during pregnancy.

I'm getting mine encapsulated. I could never just cook it up and eat it. Freaks me out. And like said above cooking it may kill alot of the nutrients

I looked into encapsulation as well but its just so expensive! I feel as though it would still be a possibility with a water birth,  its surrounded by a membrane that you cut off before eating/encapsulating. But yes! All of the benefits!

Oh, also o heard you have to be careful cooking it because the process can kill a lot of the vital nutrients, that's why encapsulation is a good alternative :) best of luck!

I know someone who did... she put it in a stroganoff :/  there are sooooo many heath benefits :) I could never, but I looked into placenta encapsulation a few months ago but now am planning a water birth so I'm not sure if its still a possibility

We've eaten (well i have) a lot of body parts/organs off of animals, i think this is also why ive never found it gross.
