coughing up a lung

I found out I was pregnant last Tuesday. I've had this irritating cough since last Monday. Its one of those that make ur chest tickle, but not in a fun way. Its not too much phlegm, but at least every morning I'm rushing to the restroom to spit it out.
Anyway, my question is: Does anyone know what I can take for his cough?
I havent gotten the OK to see my OB/GYN.

My dr told me robitussin DM  is good for cough as well as vapor rub worked wonders for me. Also as above poster said even with hot water with lemon and honey should help.

I would suggest Vicks and Mucinex for the cough and mucus, also Tylenol to reduce the inflammation in your throat (it makes your coughing worse). Good luck.

Thank you. My Primary takes too long to see me and does not take phone calls. I can't wait to see my OB or even change my Primary.

Until u talk to ur ob/gun won't u try some vicks it can help with conjestion, sore throut, and coughs. I used this for a while until I got better. It won't happen over night and it also depends how severe ur cough is.

Do you have a family practioner that you could call and ask? You could also try natural ways to soothe the cough. I avoided teas not because they are all bad during pregnancy it was just hard to keep up with the list so I just drank hot water and squeezed lemon and honey in it and seemed to help me a lot when I had a cold.
