false positive

I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts last month and I was reading on the pregnancy instructions that if you have ovarian cysts then it can give a false positive. Have anyone had this before? I got a positive test but I'm scared it's a false positive.

Thanks for cheering me girls I really hope my prayers were answered. I have an appointment next satuday at a clinic were they will do a home test and (I'm keeping my fingers crossed) that I will be enough weeks for a sonogram.

Well it sounds like you were maybe diagnosed with pcos poly cystic ovarian syndrome. I dont know about the false positive thing but yes it can be hard to concieve I have a friend that is having issues with that right now. I do know that if you took 6 tests and they are positive then your pregnant, make your appointment to be seen and congrats that it came so easily for you my friend is having to go on meds to get pregnant

It is very very rare to get a false positive on any home pregnancy test. They are designed to detect hCG, the pregnancy hormone. If it is present, in 99.99999% of cases, you are pregnant. Cysts do not introduce hCG in your system. I had severe PCOS before getting pregnant, it took me 5 years, collectively, to get pregnant. I have taken literally hundreds of tests and never once had a false positive. Go to the Dr to be 100% sure, but it is extremely unlikely that you got a false positive.

Did you find out how many weeks you are? Did you get a sonogram done? How long did it took you to get pregnant?

I have cyst on my ovaries and I had a positive test. So I scheduled an appt. and they did both urine and blood test and those came out positive. But I would suggest making an appt. so you have that extra confirmation.
