So I don't breast feed. I tried twice and I'm not trying with this baby. So I always used.enfamil. but I've been hearing better things about Gerber good start. What are your moms opinions or experiences with these formulas or what do you recommend as the best!? I'm not looking for cheaper just healthier and better for.my baby. Thanks mommas!!

My daughter is 3 months old and is on enfamil prosobee.  She has a milk allergy. I tried similac sensitive which is supposed to be really good but made my daughter constipated.
I heard so many good things about gerber but don't want to go through the hassle of switching formulas again (i switched 3 or 4 times).

Gerber Good Start is the only formula my girls could take and not be spit up queens. My sons doctor put him on it as well when he stopped gaining weight with similac at about 4-5 months. However what works for some won't work for others. Good luck!

My friend had originally been stockpiling Similac since she found out she was pregnant because she's heard it was the "best" (she's in the army & breastfeeding isn't really an option once her 6 week leave is up with her MOS) and recently discovered that the first ingredient is corn syrup & decided she wasn't ok with that. She started doing some research & has found that Gerber seems to be at the forefront of good nutrition through formula feeding, at the moment. It has far fewer fillers & seems to be better for baby and have fewer negative side effects, from what she could tell through reviews & studies. I would suggest you do your research & talk to a couple of pediatricians & see what they recommend. Pediatric nutritionists will have good information for you as well.

W my daughter (6years ago lol) it took me 2 weeks for her to finally latch on it was a wonderful bonding experience and as a full time wrkin mom it was pretty difficult to breastfeed pump wrk etc... I dnt regret it I did it for 6 mnths abd she was takin formula as well. With this pregnancy I was sure of breasfeedin until acouple days ago now I dnt think Iwant to and formula gives the nutrition thy need anyways. My daughter was always sick as an infant and I breasfeed so If u cn breasfeed tthat's awesom and if not its ok also. I learned it doesn't really make a difference but u do hv an incredible bond

I would ask the lactation consultant at the wic office. Of course they will encourage you to breast feed but they will know better about which formula is best. I plan to breast feed but nothing wrong w formula. Im afraid I won't be able to..my nipples are sensitive and hurt. We will see! Goodluck and I dont think anyone meant anything negative we all are a bit hormonal.

See that's what's wrong with this country, a lot of people think they know what's best for someone else's body and family not only do we have companies, and the government trying to push their beliefs and views on us. We as women are attacking our own sex we should come together she just wanted to know about different formulas and how it affected are children not biased views on breastfeeding or not she made her decision already point blank and that's her right

This is why I don't ask such questions. Sorry mommabear2015 such an innocent question you would think. But I wish you the best of luck on your choice I found comparing formula a lot easier then asking opinions for this reason, to much hormones going around lol ;-)

Also, if you get placenta pills made they say it helps your milk come in faster.

Yikes! Lol I breastfed with my first two. And was only able to do it for 5-6months then switched to formula. My girls did the best on gerber good Start. I will be breastfeeding baby #3 and hope to be able to for the year. I feel theres more information on breastfeeding now then there was with my first two girls. Its all about preference. You dont have to breastfeed if u dont want to.

Right, except the word unsuccessful was never used. I think there's a lot of persecution aimed at moms who aren't "successful". Nursing failed for me my 2nd time. I ended up in the hospital with severe pain/ bloody vomit from taking antibiotics meant to get rid of mastitis from nursing. I SAW several consultants. ..I tried everything.  I was literally raw, bleeding, infected and I actually have a scar on one nipple because of a deep wound. I didn't "fail"...I chose to end my torment. It was SO horrible. Oh, and all the lactation consultants I saw ...FAILED to tell me my son had tie lip! He physically couldn't latch correctly. So...what I'm saying is...be careful how.you word. That's all.

Whoa!!!! Your are freaking out and making a bigger deal than it really is. And I ASSUMED that she didn't have confidence in her ability to breastfeed because she was "unsuccessful" in her own words with prior babies. And I never claimed to be perfect. You need to grow up.

I personally recommend Similac Advance. I did a lot of research upon failing to breastfeed when switching to formula (I was determined to give my LO the best) and I found Similac had the best balance of vitamins and minerals and is easiest on the digestive system of a newborn, it is also the one recommended by most healthcare professionals (while all formula has to meet a certain regulation Similac seems to respond best with most babies). Hope this was helpful and congrats on the new arrival. :)

Lactation/wic consultant will also help with formula. That was my answer to her question. And once again I said I wasn't judging, and I'm not. And I don't know what you eat but I'm pretty do confident in what I do :) I only speak from years of experience in the medical field and nutrition. Wasn't pushing or once again judging which I clearly stated tha, maybe you should read my comment again. I wasn't trying to start an argument. Why you keep going on and on I'm not sure....

And who are you to say or be assuming they have low confidence in themselves for any reason? Just BC they don't.want to breastfeed and the claiming to be unsuccessful comment is.absurd. we can't all be "perfect" like you. You dont know other.people's reasons behind why they choose not to.  My sister had breast cancer and had a masectomy and can't breastfeed does.that mean She just claims to be unsuccessful too?? Some people should just zip it. You claim not to judge such a joke.

I didn't use formula but one of my best friend did. She tried Enfamil and Similac. Switched to Gerber good start and had the best success. She was like you. Tried bf with her two. Didn't work out plus she works full-time so she said she would have to quit after 6 weeks. She won't try again either. Anyway, I say if you gave it a try and didn't work then you gotta do whatever it is that makes you comfortable. That is what make us good moms... Doing what is best for our own babies! :-) Every mom and every baby is different!

Breast is best we see it all the time and hear it from the docs, in my opinion you'll do what is best for your child and yourself as its your right to decide if you'll breastfeed or not. Me personally, this is my 4th pregnancy and I'll be doing the same for this baby what we did for my other 3 HEALTHY children, we use similac organic, its never caused any problems at all for are children and we absolutely love it

There's some garbage in everything like baby food and mostly everything we eat. Pretty sure that wasn't her question so I guess if people can t answer it they should t respond. She said she isn't going to breastfeed pretty clear there that she won't be going to a.lactoion consultant

I am a breastfeeding mom. I don't think you need to judge. Some can do it and some can't/don't want to. As log as the babies are getting fed and loved and taken care of why judge. Its not your baby. Do what's best for YOUR baby and support other mothers.

My comment wasn't aimed at her. I didn't mean to push "post" when I did and this app does not allow for editing. RAther, my comment was meant generally. Her.post was kind. Sorry.
