gestational diabetes

When do they check for gestational diabetes?  Im 22 weeks now.  Wont be going back to my doctor until over 6 months.  I had an episode the other day in the grocery where I was shaky and light headed.  It felt like my sugar had dropped. I get much better after I ate. But my doctor hasn't even mentioned the test yet.  When Did you all have your test done?

I just got tested at 28 weeks and I have it :( I will say more than a handful of times I got light headed and felt like I was going to pass out and I also have blurred vision occasionally which is a big give away! Good luck hopefully you don't have it!!

I was light headed, near the point of fainting several times and was tested twice for gd diabetes with a negative result. I had to start eating more protein in the morning, staying cool, & getting up slowly from sitting.

They do it between 25-28weeks at my doctor. You can akways call the nurse at the doctors office. And bring up your concerns. But you should be eating every 2-3 hours smaller meals. That should help

They do the test at 28wks but if you continue to feel that way call ahead and get checked by your doctor. With my last pregnancy I was always having headaches and feeling light headed. I ended up with gestational diabetes. Make and earlier appt if you continue to feel that way. Good luck hun
