I totally feel your pain. I feel and broke my ankle in the beginning of March, I had to get xrays. Then they put me in a hard cast and I had to use crutches! Finally got my cast off and they put me in an air cast. Im 30weeks and 6 days now. It felt impossible to do anything, I cried alot. I hope you get better soon, prayers!
Thanks Amanda sorry for your pain too! I just worry if I have a cast taking care of a newborn I could hurt the baby by moving him or her, feedings and who wants to snuggle with a cast!
Ask the doc for splint instead of cast..they can make a custom splint u can take off for hygiene n giving birth..i work for an orthopedic group
I'm going on 8 wks in a leg cast. I'm due in 10 weeks. All I want to do is WALK into and out of the hospital!! I feel your frustration and totally get your concerns and worries.
if you want to hurry & get it over with, I'd go ahead & ask for the x-ray.
I'm an x-ray tech. and honestly.. the x-ray to your wrist won't cause any harm to your baby. even IF you didn't have radiation protection on, which you should, that small amount of radiation isn't enough to do anything to anybody. people (mainly the doctors) are sooo afraid that if you have the x-ray, something goes wrong with the baby, you can turn around & sue them.. there's so many reports about x-ray's being okay/not okay/it'd just be a battle between lawyers & not facts if it were to go to court..
x-ray radiation is not that serious. I don't care what anybody says.. the radiation you get during CANCER treatments is a different story - if it's strong enough to burn you, then it's danger.. but not just a simple wrist x-ray.
they should lay a "lead apron" across you so nothing gets to the baby anyway.
I'd have the x-ray to make sure things were okay! good luck!! ((((:
You can get dental xrays while pregnant so how is it different?!? I would ask them to just double cover your belly with the lead sheets and do the xray to make sure it's not broken
