I need same advice on what type of deodorant would be safe to use while breastfeeding, Im 33 weeks pregos and wanted to make my own deodorant with baking soda, coconut oil, corn starch, and vitamin e oil. I been using it for two months and now im getting a rash. I want my milk to be as pure as it can get if anyone can help me please do.

Also, just like Louise said.. Baking soda can make you itch, get a rash etc.

Sometimes the magnesium oil stings but hey, no nausea is a plus from it elsewhere on my body where it doesn't sting. Can also help you sleep better too :)

I read Wellness Mama's blog. Very natural and great tips. I haven't tried her recipe yet for stick deodorant. Magnesium oil is what I've been trying out lately... No essential oils though. My husband thinks essential oils are evil... But I say its alright diluted.

It takes time to start working well apparently... I can still smell some sweat, much better when i put rose water too. I don't mind that at work..  It keeps the annoying b*s away from my desk and me lol

Try less baking soda... Google natural homemade deodorant for sensitive skin...my sis started getting a rash from too much baking soda too. She uses way less in there and is fine now and says the deodorant still works well.

To poster above ^^, there's a bunch of questionable ingredients in Deodorant (and creams, make up, bodywashes) they are not proven to harm a baby through breastfeeding but some people like to play it safe. I stopped using commercial deodorant and started using homemade when I found out some ingredients were known carcinogens and some were known factors in auto immune diseases.
