hole in baby heart

I had my ultrasound with my second child last week and got a call this week saying my baby had a hole in his heart and they had to refer me to OB (army so u see family practice unless high risk) so I go see them just for them to tell me I have to go downtown to a civilian doctor to have my baby get a echo and a level 2 ultrasound.  Have any other moms had this problem and what did the doctors do to help?

I was born with a hole in my heart, it cleared itself up by the time I was a few months old, I'm sure it's nothing to worry about :)

When I was a baby I had a heart murmur(hole in my heart) and its very common. Most of the time it grows and closes on its own with no complications. I have even mentioned it on my medical history when I go to doctors appointments and they ask if I ever had a sheet murmer I say as a baby and they don't even write it down they say its common and doesn't matter or affect my current health. So they not to stress too much everything will be alright with your baby they just want to monitor and get a closer look to make sure its nothing more. Hope that helped and good luck with your little one! :)

Oh ok, my sister had a heart murmur all her life and didnt realize it till she was 33 years old. So as long as baby is developing and growing it should be fine. Hope everything works out for you and baby.  And like i said before i know its not easy but try to relax and not stress.  Just keep your head up.

Same thing happened to me! At 16 weeks They told me my baby had a white spot which is calcium in the heart i cried and cried as well next ultrasound i had done at 28 weeks and everything is good the white spot is gone! It is common but its nothing to worry about it might go away before baby is born and if it doesn't it really doesn't affect the baby!!

Did they say hole or a white spot? When i was about 20 weeks they did a ultrasound and found a white spot. I was so worried cried for 5 days straight till i went to the level 2ultrasound.  When i got there the lady explained its fairly common and most of the time it means nothing and goes away on its own.  Even though it's hard not to get worked up about it try to relax and just try to tell yourself everything is going to be alright.  Hope its nothing and baby is good and healthy. Good luck.
