They probably stopped it because better fetal outcomes are noted at 40 weeks. The American obstetrics and gynecology released the new definitions late 2013, of early term 37 to 38 to encourage docs and patents to keep the baby. in longer. Full term has now been defined as 39 - 40. That extra week gives the baby more time to develop surfactant for his lungs, some more fat for better thermoregulation. Etc.
They launched a patient education program to help let women know as well.
Obviously finding a doc or hospital that is not following the new recommendations is your choice. Just want you to know why they probably did that.
Me too. They stopped my labor twice once at 35w again at 36w. Because my hospital was suited to handle babies before 37w. If I wanted my Dr to deliver me I have to use this hosp. Or some stranger Dr I have never met would have. But 37 weeks your in clear I was told. Your actually considered early term or early fullterm something along those lines.
Oh my gosh, I can't believe they stopped your labor.
Why did they stop your labor??
