incompetent cervix and scared

I have an imcompetent cervix and have to get a cerxlage in 2 weeks.i will be 12 weeks..I had my first child at 25 weeks .he had a few problems but u couldnt really tell now. Well I had the cerxlage place with him at 20 weeks which was an emergency.. my question is will getting the  cerxlage sooner help me carry this baby longer? Have any of u had a preemie then a full term baby.. I am very scared.

Well this is my second pregnancy and first child, yes :) my first was ectopic, plus I have a bicornuate/septate uterus,  that's why the doctor recommended I get the cerclage just in case it turns out that my cervix is incompetent- which is the case with most bicornuates.  Good luck! :)

Has your doctor evaluated you for 17P progesterone shots? My water broke at 35 weeks, and they are having me do hormone shots from 16-36 weeks to prevent preterm labor/membrane rupture.

With baby 2 and 3 i carried tell 42 and then 41 1/2 weeks currently at 31weeks all with cerclages.  They are definitely game changers! Good luck mama!

The earlier you get it the better.  I had my cerclage put in at 14 weeks and now I'm 26 and my cervix is still long :)

My friend had an emergency cerclage with the first kid and she was preemie. The 2nd kid they knew early that they had to put one in and that kid was overdue. Good luck and its a good thing that they know this time

Cerclauge will keep your baby in place longer I had a mc at 19 wks due to incompetent cervix now I'm 27 wks.
Everything will be fine no worries
