I was induced with my 3rd child. It wasn't bad. Everyone's experiences are different though. Some women can be in labor for a day or two others like me can be in labor for 4 hours. What I did like about it was that everything was looked after and went smooth.
Ok that's good to know. Thanks.
I loved being induced with my last two babies. I was in labor for 8 and 4 hours after I got all set up and they started the actual meds to induce. Everything went wonderfully smooth. But it is very different for every individual, so don't let everyone elses experience make your mind up for you!! Good luck wither way!
I was induced with my last after my water broke and I stopped progressing. Honestly it was horrible. I've had a natural birth, 14 hours, that was managable. I went from 3cm to 10 in less than 4 hours it was one non stop contraction. I couldn't do anything! I'm hoping to not get induced again.
I also had induction after my water broke on its own at home. I was in labor for 25 hours, and only dilated to a 6. I had a fever and my son wasn't moving much, so it ended in a C-section due to infection. I feel like if your body is ready, then induction is smooth and easy. If it's not quite there I've heard it's more painful than regular labor from women who did both. It all depends on your body. How I see it is if you're healthy and ok waiting, wait until you're at least a week late. Babies bake at different rates and some are just ready later than others. If it's your first I'd definitely suggest waiting, your life will change forever and you should enjoy the time with your significant other while you have it :)
This is my second baby, I told my doctor I wanted to wait a little longer to see what happens.
With my first child at 40 weeks i was 2cm and statyed that way for 2 weeks and had to be induced. I was only in labor for a total of 4hrs as well from the time meds were going til baby was out. It was very quick but veey intense. If your body is ready which it seems it might be it could go very quick your body might just need that little bit of help.
