It's not just you paying to make those people's, who struggle just as much if not more, it's all of us. I understand it isn't easy but maybe you should blame it on the already greedy insurance companies that are making it harder in you an not the people, like myself, who can't afford insurance period. Yes, I work, my husband is a full time student and he works we are having our 3rd child next month. We are no means lazy we work for every thing we have. I fund it rude of you to imply that we don't have a right to health care because it raises your insurance premiums. It's nothing to do with those that can't afford health care and everything to do with corporate greed.
Thanks everyone. I will be applying for medicaid this week.
As long as you make a payment of $1 a month hospitals are not allowed to harass you or demand payment in full. Relax also they are required to either treat you or transfer you to a hospital that your insurance covers.
@gmbruttoo, when you apply for the medicaid they ask if you have an recent hospital/doctor bills so that they can pay them.
They cover everything for me
Have you tried applying for Medicaid
You need to find out what hospital is covered. Even if she can't deliver there you can still see her for your care up until then. You don't want to have to pay hospital cost out of pocket.
That is absolutely nutty. Don't let them stress you about the bill. As long as you make payments. Even if only like $20 a month they can't do anything to you.
I'm frustrated with insurance. We got this Obama care stuff-- consumer choice. I had it before I was pregnant. When nothing is wrong its great! $30/ month. But the OBGYN that is covered by them is 30 minutes away. She works out of a hospital that is not covered by them!!! How crazy is that! So due to bleeding and being rh+ I had to go to the ER with authorization from my OB. That ER visit is costing me $2000 because it was not covered at that hospital. The insurance swears that I was covered and that the doctors are charging me in excess above their agreed payment. I'm confused but the hospital is demanding payment immediately and not working with. I'm concerned about giving birth in that hospital. Now I'm 21 weeks and part time at work so I think I may qualify for Medicaid. I'm not sure if that will affect payment since i was fulltime at the time of the ER visit.
